Chemical Analysis of Emerging Pollutants
Workshop on Chemical Analysis of Emerging Pollutants
27-28 November 2006 - Mao, Menorca, Spain
About 80 participants from various scientific research institutes in Europe attended this first thematic workshop on "Chemical analysis of emerging pollutants". The workshop was organised by CSIC - Consejo Superior de Investigationes Cientificas - in Barcelona, Spain and took place in the Institut Menorqui d’Estudis (IME) in Maó, Menorca.
The workshop included six sessions: EU research on emerging contaminants, Polar pesticides, Pharmaceuticals, Halogenated emerging contaminants, Other emerging contaminants and Degradation & bioavailability of emerging contaminants, with a total number of 20 key note lectures and 22 posters.
The main objective of the event was to evaluate practical aspects and usefulness of the chemical analytical methods currently available for determining a variety of organic and inorganic compounds in environmental samples such as, water, soil/ sediment and air.
The speakers’ presentations are available as pdf files.
